How it started
The story behind Smelt
In 2022, I got postpartum depression and soon after that, an ADHD diagnosis. My daily life was a mess, and I needed something to help me chill out. I started using the sauna, and it helped. Twenty minutes in the heat, and my head was calm.The only problem was that the saunas available were either expensive, permanent installations, or required a building permit. I decided to change that. After six months of development, Smelt went live in April 2025. A portable sauna tent that you can set up in 5 minutes, anywhere.

The mission of Smelt Sauna is to make saunas accessible to everyone, regardless of their life situation, finances, or where they live. We believe that a few minutes of warmth can make a real difference. For your body. For your mind. For the way you face the day. Saunas are not just a tradition. They are a tool for slowing down in a world that rarely does so.With Smelt, we want to inspire more people to create their own moments of calm. In the garden, by the water, out in nature. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be yours. Smelt is not just a product. It is a break, a breath of fresh air, and a reminder that calm should not be reserved for the few.
